Alicia Ferrer
Lyric Soprano, Qualified Singing Teacher graduated from the CSMMB (Conservatorio Superior Municipal de Música in Barcelona) where she also obtained a Piano Teaching Diploma. Among her Awards, Alicia won: Diploma of Honour at the Maria Canals International Competition (2000), Scholarship for a postgraduate course at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan after her performance at the International Competition “Francisca Cuart” (2002), and the award of Best Performance of Catalan Composition at the Mirabent i Magrans Competition (2007). In Italy, and in Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona, she undertook postgraduate courses and masterclasses with prestigious teachers including Enedina Lloris, Kamal Khan and Paolo Vaglieri.
She made her operatic debut as Gilda in Rigoletto. Later she played the roles of Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore, Marie in La Fille du Régiment and Marguerite in Faust. In her debut in Italy, she played the roles of Musetta in La Bohème, Ginevra of Ariodante and Fiordiligi in Così fan Tutte. She sang in the Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia, performed Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro and Nedda in I Pagliacci.
She has worked under the baton of conductors such as Miquel Ortega, Stefano Seghedoni, and Paolo Vaglieri; and has performed at prestigious venues such as ‘El Gran Teatre del Liceu’, ‘El Palau de la Música Catalana’, the Auditorium of Palma, Majorca, ‘El Palau de la Música’ of Valencia, and the Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, to name but a few.
Her interest in other musical fields and stage performance has seen her perform the characters of great lyrical musicals including: Maria in West Side Story (dir. R. Reguant), Anne in A Little Night Music (dir. Mario Gas), Mare in Gaudí (dir. J.A. Gutiérrez), Berta, la Generala, in La Generala (dir. Paco Mir, ‘El Tricicle’), Al Mumina in Balansiyyà (dir. Carlos Veiga) and Said’s mother in Mar i Cel (dir. Dagoll Dagom) in important theatres all over Spain.
Her theatrical work has been recognized by her nominations for Best Actress in a Musical in the 2003 Butaca Awards as well as Best Supporting Actress in the 2007 Friends of Musicals Awards, for her roles in Gaudí and in ‘Mar i Cel’ respectively.

Tirant lo Blanc by Calixto Bieito with music by Carlos Santos: her character, Eliseu, the blind organist, has allowed her to present herself as a lyrical singer, pianist and actress in Theatre Festivals in Frankfurt, Berlin, Madrid and Mexico (also as musical director) and the Romea Theatre in Barcelona.
Fortuny-Venise; contemporary opera by Diego dall'Osto (dir. Rafel Nadal) performed in Reus, Castellón, Lleida and Barcelona (La Pedrera).
Pierrot a la Lluna; contemporary opera for soprano and five instrumentalists (dir. Marc Rosich and Elisenda Carrasco) in the Auditorium of Barcelona.
Allegro Vivace, a brief history of the opera, and La Ventafocs, a children’s version of La Cenerentola by Rossini, two productions directed by Joan Font (Comediants) and produced by ‘El Gran Teatre del Liceu’.
La Pantera Imperial; the creation of Carlos Santos from the music of J.S. Bach at the ‘Teatre Lliure’ of Barcelona, the twelfth Ibero-American Theatre Festival in Bogotá (Colombia) and the Teatro Español in Madrid.
